Purpose of Communications Committee: 

To improve communication regarding library news, resources, events, and publications via the OLA Hotline (issued monthly) and the Oregon Library Association Quarterly Journal (issued 4 times per year).

The Communications Committee has the following duties:

• Solicit news from OLA Board and units in order to provide timely ways to communicate with members concerning OLA activities and to report OLA's official actions.
• Report news of Oregon librarians, library staff members, and library activities.
• Report local, regional, and national news that affects the Oregon library community, including legislative actions.
• Present information on significant materials of local and regional interest.
• Committee Chair will serve as ex officio member of the Publications Committee.
• Edit material according to criteria developed.
• Forward material to Web Member Manager for web posting.
